Jump, Forrest, Jump

Ok, so here's my little rant about the KILLER on the crane over Buckhead: PEOPLE CHOOSE TO COMMIT SUICIDE, PERIOD. Whatever their reasons, people do it every day. It's just really sad that, in this type of situation, the police are damned if they do or don't. If you had pneumonia and went to the hospital and refused treatment, the hospital is no longer legally responsible for your well-being. It should be the same for police. If they offer you help, and you refuse to accept it, then you accept the consequences for your behavior. It's even more upsetting to realize that, if this man had actually jumped, his family probably still would have sued the city for negligence. Now, they'll just sue the city for using a Taser gun on him. Pretty soon, we are going to have a country full of people too afraid to simply perform their jobs for fear of being sued. Dr's all over this country are driven out of business every year by the cost of malpractice insurance. What's next? Suicidal suspect insurance for police? Signing waivers when your children play on the neighbor's swingset? I fell when I was 12 at Jimmy Bellamy's house and split my chin open. Do you think it ever crossed my parents mind to sue his parents for having a slippery porch? But, I digress...

Anyway, it's sad that people kill themselves. But, sometimes, despite our best efforts, they do make the choice to do so...It's a free country. I just don't feel like our brave men in blue are responsible for babysitting ever psycho on a crane for days on end while he disrupts the entire city and makes everyone's commute an hour longer that it already is. So, good job getting that lunatic down, boys. Just sorry it took up so much of your precious time and ruined my Wednesday night happy hour.

Seriously people if you want to kill yourself do it at home. And do it nicely, like with some pills and booze. Please don't shoot yourself, leaves way too much of a mess. Now can we also think about all the lost revenue to the construction company for the days he was up there? I am shocked that someone stuck in a traffic jam didn't pull out their handguns and shoot him....I would have.

Oh and as for people being sued....remind me to sue you and your husband, I was at a party at your house where liqour was provided, I got intoxicated, and ended up with a hangover. Obviously it was your fault and you were negligent in not taking that last beer out of my hand..........the world is full of morons.... but I promise when my child gets his/her butt kicked by your child I won't sue....I will pour us another glass of wine and we will laugh AT them.......JHo
